Amadeo Carrizo

Amadeo Raúl Carrizo ( born June 12, 1926 in Rufino ) is a former Argentine footballer. With the national team of his native country, he participated in the Football World Cup 1958.

Career

Club career

Amadeo Carrizo began his footballing career in 1945 at CA River Plate, the Nobel club from Argentina's capital Buenos Aires. There he was part of the famous La Maquina, who won numerous championship titles for River Plate in the forties and fifties. Overall Carrizo won with River Plate, where he played among others with other Argentine football greats of the time as Ángel Labruna Félix Loustau, Ermindo Onega, José Varacka or Federico Vairo together, five times the Argentine Football Championship, where all the titles profits 1952-1957 arrive. Carrizo played from 1945 to 1968 twenty three years with River Plate and completed 521 games for the club with which he is still División a record player of River Plate and generally the Primera. 1968 ended his time at River Plate and he joined Los Millonarios CD from Colombia's capital Bogota, where he played two more years until 1970, football, before he ended his career after 53 games for Los Millonarios and a title. He is widely regarded as one of the first football goalkeeper, who participated actively in the game, by making out and ran the ball once with his foot playing for players without having taken him before. He was also one of the first goalkeeper in South America, who played with gloves.

National

Amadeo Carrizo was used a total of twenty times in the Argentine national football team 1954-1964. From Argentina coach Guillermo Stábile he was appointed to the South American squad for the FIFA World Cup 1958 in Sweden. In the tournament, he was employed in all three games of his team as a goalkeeper, but had to endure and the shameful 1:6 in the final group game against Czechoslovakia. The Argentine selection arbitration at the World Championships in Sweden in the preliminary round as a group Last behind Germany, Northern Ireland and just from Czechoslovakia.
