Amanda Holden
Amanda Louise Holden ( born February 16, 1971 in Bishop's Waltham, Hampshire) is a British actress.
Childhood and school days
Amanda Holden's father, Frank Vallely Holden was boatswain in the Merchant Navy and was from Liverpool. Her mother Judith Mary Harrison was secretary from Gloucestershire. Her father left her mother when Amanda was four years old. Soon after, her mother Leslie married that man, the Amanda Holden sees as her true father. Her parents bought a guest house in Alum Chine, Bournemouth. Holden went five years on the Swanmore Secondary School in Hampshire. She then studied drama at the Jellicoe Theatre, now part of Bournemouth and Poole College. She received two A grades and then went to the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in Wood Green.
Television career
Amanda Holden is best known in Britain for her role as Geraldine Titley, the main character in the British TV comedy The Grimleys. It is popular as an actress in the series Wild at Heart, Kiss Me Kate and Hearts and Bones.
Amanda Holden made her television debut as unfortunate contestant in the long-running ITV series Blind Date. Her first television role was in a TV drama starring Edward Woodward. She also appeared in the BBC soap opera EastEnders in 1994. Holden is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Mia Bevan in the BAFTA nominated drama series Cutting It, which ran from 2002 to 2004.
About the Acting addition, Amanda Holden is also a jury member alongside Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan in the seven seasons of the ITV show Britain's Got Talent.

Amanda Holden has appeared in several stage musicals and was nominated for her performance in the West End production of Thoroughly Modern Millie in 2004 for the " Laurence Olivier Theatre Award" as best actress in a musical.
Recently, she appeared in the ITV drama Wild at Heart, alongside Stephen Tompkinson. The first series ran in 2006 and a second in 2007. Early 2008 was the third series, in which its title character Sarah is killed.
Other television appearances include three of the comedy series Mad About Alice series of comedy Kiss Me Kate alongside Caroline Quentin, three series of the ITV comedy series The Grimleys, Celeb with Harry Enfield, the critical BBC series Hearts and Bones alongside Damien Lewis, with Jamie Theakston, and the Christmas special Marple alongside Geraldine McEwan and John Hannah. She is also co-starred alongside Bill Nighy and Sir Tom Courtenay in Ready When You Are, Mr McGill, the classic comedy drama by Jack Rosenthal.
Private life
Amanda Holden learned in 1993 TV presenter Les Dennis know, as both occurred in adjacent theaters. They married in June 1995 in Bournemouth, when she and he were 24 40 years old. The marriage broke up after her affair with actor Neil Morrissey. This made them a popular target of the British tabloids. They were divorced on 18 November 2003. Holden's affair was later parodied in the television series Extras.
