Amanda is a village in Fairfield County in the U.S. state of Ohio in the United States with 707 inhabitants (as of 2000).

Demography

According to the census of 2000, there were 707 people in 256 households, and 203 families. The population density was 827.2 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was from 98.59 % White, 0.28 % Native American and 1.13 % mixed race. 0.71 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 256 households out of which 40.2 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 67.6 % were married couples living together, 8.6 % had a female householder with no husband, and 20.7% were non-families. 19.1 % of all households are made up and 8.2% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or over only. The average household size was 2.76 and the average family size was 3.09.

In relation to the entire town the population was spread out with 29.1 % under the age of 18, 5.5 % from 18 to 24, 33.0 % between 25 and 44 years, 18.4% between 45 and 64 years and 14.0% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 90.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 men statistically.

The median income for a household was $ 40,114, and the median income for a family was $ 43,750. Males have a median income of $ 36,563, women $ 21,176. The per capita income was $ 16,208. 3.6 % of families and 3.6 % of the population were below the poverty line (including 2.3 % of children and 1.8 % of people over 65 years ).
