Life and career

Tapping moved at the age of three years with her family to Toronto. After visiting four years, the Windsor School of Dramatic Art, she took on, among other guest roles in the television series The X-Files and Due South. From 1997 to 2007 she played the role of Dr. Samantha Carter in the television series Stargate - Kommando SG -1 and from 2007 the same character in the Stargate Atlantis extraction. From 2008 to 2011, she starred in the series Sanctuary - Keeper of the creatures - which she also produced - the role of Dr. Helen Magnus.

Tapping is married to Alan Kovacs since 23 September 1994 adopted the last name. My real name is Amanda Kovacs since then. As an artist name she continues to use her maiden name. On 22 March 2005 she brought a daughter into the world.
