Amanvillers
Amanvillers ( German Amanweiler, 1940-44 Almansweiler ) is a commune with 2179 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region.
Geography
The community Amanvillers than twelve kilometers northwest of Metz on the border with the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle. North of the village runs the Autoroute A4 Paris - Strasbourg, which can be achieved through the six kilometers away, connecting at Sainte -Marie- aux- Chenes.
History
The town was first mentioned in 1177 as Alma Vill and destroyed and abandoned around 1300. From 1448 he was rebuilt and repopulated. The exemption from German occupation Amanvillers was destroyed in the fall of 1944 to over 85%.
