Amasya Province

Amasya is a province of Turkey. The capital is also called Amasya.

The Province has an area of ​​5690 km total of 334 786 inhabitants ( 2010 census ). The population has since the last stand, 2005 at 26.440 inhabitants reduced. The population density is 58.84 inhabitants / km.

Amasya is bordered to the north by the province of Samsun, Çorum on the west, on the southeast by Tokat and Yozgat to the south.

Famous people

In the village MARINCA at Merzifon in 1634 the Ottoman Grand Vizier Kara Mustafa Pasha later, the Ser'asker ( Commander in Chief of the Army ) of the besieging army at the Second Siege of Vienna, was born.
