Amata in Gauja National Park

Template: Infobox River / Obsolete

The Amata ( German Ammat ) is a left-side tributary of the River Gauja in Latvia. The river rises on the ridge in the Livonian Kūkālis Lake and has for Baltic conditions a steep gradient. The underflow is located in a steep, 15-25 meters deep valley with lateral sand and dolomite rocks on the banks.

In autumnal flood the Amata is a popular destination by boat and canoe riders.
