The Amazon Appstore is powered by Amazon App Store for Android apps and provides an alternative or supplement to the Google Play dar. launch in the U.S. was March 22, 2011, in Europe, 30. August 2012.

In contrast to Google's Play Store Amazon checks each application before it is accepted into the AppStore. In Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet of the AppStore is already integrated .. Amazon advertises that every day a paid app is available for free.

Criticism

Users on Heise Online criticize inter alia, the need for the AppStore application on some related apps from the AppStore installed at runtime, and the user must be logged in Store. Furthermore, the developer is about marketing supposedly speculation to the detriment.
