Ambattur (Taluk)

The Taluk Ambattur (Tamil: அம்பத்தூர் வட்டம் ) is a taluk ( subdistrict ) of Tiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Capital is the eponymous city Ambattur.

Geography

The Ambattur Taluk lies in the southeast of the district of Tiruvallur in the suburban belt of the metropolis Chennai ( Madras). It borders on the Poonamallee taluks and Tiruvallur in the West, Ponneri Madhavaram in the north and the northeast, to the city of Chennai district in the east and the district Kanchipuram in the south.
