The Ambedkar Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in the Indian capital New Delhi. The 20,000 capacity stadium is mostly used for football events.

Named after the politicians Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar Stadium is the home of football second division club New Delhi Heroes FC and also an alternative venue for the first Indian football league. Furthermore, also football competitions such as the Durand Cup will take place.

The National India carries matches from the Ambedkar Stadium. After renovations in 2007, the stadium hosted the Nehru Cup in August of the same year. In the final of the competition, the team from India defeated Syria 1-0 and won the tournament. After the original site had become unplayable in Hyderabad, the final and the place match of the AFC Challenge Cup have been moved to the new stadium the Delhi 2008. Defeated hosts India in front of 10,000 spectators Tajikistan 4-1 and won the title. In 2009 it was once again the host of the Nehru Cup. India defeated in the new edition of the finale of the 2007 Syria in a penalty shootout.
