Ambrogio Fogar
Ambrogio Fogar ( born August 13, 1941 in Milan, † August 23, 2005 ) was an Italian adventurer and author.
Life
Ambrogio Fogar has the world in more than a year already circling like Chay Blyth in front of him alone on board made of fiberglass sloop "Surprise" in 1973. In 1978, he survived 78 days and 1300 nautical miles in a lifeboat after his yacht sank in the Antarctic. After the rescue of a freighter died his sailors Mauro Mancini. In the Paris- Moscow - Beijing 1992, he was injured in an accident and has since been a paraplegic.
For several years he was the star of the TV show Jonathan Dimensione Avventura. Fogar wrote several books. He died of a heart attack in his Milan apartment.
A self-catering chalet in the Valle Bognanco (on the Alpe Fornalino, 2040 m above sea level. A. ) bears his name.
