Ambrosi Hoffmann

Ambrosi Hoffmann ( born March 22, 1977 in Davos ) is a retired Swiss ski racer. He specializes in the disciplines of downhill and Super -G.

Biography

Hoffmann began in March 1996 at the Ski World Cup. He celebrated a first major success in 1996 when he Junior World Champion in downhill was in Schwyz / Ybrig. His best result at World Ski Championships he reached 2003 in St Moritz, where he finished fourth in the Super -G. At the Olympic downhill skiing Snowbasin 2002 he was eighth. At the Olympic Winter Games 2006 in Turin Hoffmann went to the podium and won the bronze medal. Two weeks after this success, he suffered a torn ACL in his right knee.

Hoffmann reach the World Cup six podiums, but no victory. The closest he came to a World Cup victory in March 2002 in downhill from Altenmarkt when he Eberharter was second behind the Austrian.

On March 9, 2012 Ambrosi announced his resignation due to lack of results.
