AMEC

AMEC is a British construction and engineering company with headquarters in London.

The company is both a classic construction works as well as in the construction of complex equipment for petroleum and natural gas extraction and refining, energy and mining. It employs around 23,000 people as a construction company (as of July 2008). AMEC is listed in the FTSE 100.

AMEC was created in 1982 from a merger of Fairclough Group ( founded 1883) and the William Press Group (founded in 1913). 1988 AMEC acquired the Matthew Hall Group. The company Ogden Environmental & Energy Services and AGRA, Inc. were acquired in 2000.
