Ameen Faheem

Makhdoom Amin Fahim (* August 4, 1939 in Hala ) is a Pakistani political leader of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP ) whose deputy he is chairman.

Life

Makhdoom Amin Fahim comes from a large landowning family in Hala, Sindh. His father Makhdoom Talib -ul- Maula was with Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, one of the founders of the PPP. His political career began in 1970 with the election as a delegate to the " National Assembly". During the tenure of Benazir Bhutto as prime minister, he was from 1988 to 1990 and from 1993 to 1996 Minister. During the exile of Benazir Bhutto 1999-2007, he served as chairman of the party stellvertretenter and as chairman of the PPP parliamentary party its representative in Pakistan. He was always as her close follower. So he proposed in 2002 an offer by President Pervez Musharraf to take over the pages to change and the post of Prime Mini Sters.

It was after the success of his party in the parliamentary elections on 18 February 2008 as the most promising candidate for the office of prime minister in a coalition with the Pakistan Muslim League ( PML -N) of Nawaz Sharif. Ultimately, however, the PPP nominated in March 2008 the former Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani and President of Parliament for this office.
