Amer Sports Oyj (formerly Amer - Yhtymä Oyj ) is a Finnish sports equipment manufacturer. The company, founded in 1950 is headquartered in Helsinki.

Amer Sports employs over 6,300 people (as of 2009), leading sports brands such as Wilson, Atomic, Suunto, Precor and Salomon.

Description

The company was initially engaged in various industries (ships, tobacco products and media ), but has evolved over the years into a manufacturer and seller of sporting goods.

In 1961, acquired the rights, Philip Morris cigarettes for sale, it sold back to Phillip Morris 2004.
