America's Most Wanted

America's Most Wanted was an American documentary television program that was first aired on Fox from 1988 to 2011, but then was displayed for two more years at the cable channel Lifetime. The shipment served criminal investigation and detection of crime suspects.

Thematic predecessor of the program were the German -language broadcast Aktenzeichen XY ... unresolved and the British Crime Watch. Contributions were broadcast in every episode in which actor acting out real crime. After that, the audience were invited to register as witnesses. According to his own statements could thus be taken to 12th September 2009 1089 criminals. In September 1996, the show was canceled, a decision that after massive protests and after the replacement shipment had remained behind expectations, was reversed.

Host of the show was John Walsh, whose son was murdered in 1981. Walsh is also one of the owners of the National Museum of Crime & Punishment in Washington, DC, which also housed the TV studio of the shipment.
