American Heart Association

The American Heart Association (AHA ), headquartered in Dallas is an American non-profit organization that deals with the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The goal of the AHA is to reduce physical disabilities and deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke.

History

The American Heart Association was founded in 1924 by a group of cardiologists in New York. The union went out there from a previous initiative (" Association for the Prevention and Relief of Heart Disease "), which had been founded by doctors and social workers to do something about the lack of awareness for heart disease.

Organization

The AHA maintains 12 offices in the United States and Puerto Rico and is divided into seven divisions:

  • Advocacy
  • Corporate Operations
  • Field Operations and Development
  • Health Care Markets
  • Science Operations
  • Technology and Customer Strategies

Activities

The AHA organized numerous conferences and annual meetings, including the so-called annual AHA Scientific Sessions. In addition, they are more highly respected worldwide medical journals out (eg, Circulation, Circulation Research, and Stroke ).
