Paint Horse with Tobianozeichnung

The Paint Horse is a horse's race, which has its origin in the American Quarter Horse. His monochrome descendants were formerly known as Breeding Stock, now called Solid Paint Bred Horse. In the 1960s, the American Paint Horse Association was founded.

Background information on the evaluation and breeding horses can be found at: exterior, interior and horse breeding.

Exterior

The Paint Horse is characterized by a small, wedge-shaped head, with a keen eye, a broad forehead, small, movable ears, small, solid and strong muzzle jowls. The neck is sufficiently long and slender, well set on, clear cut in the throat and move the neck, the shoulder angle and how the chest packed with muscles; the withers are well pronounced. The short back is well connected with the hindquarters; the loin is deep and strong; the hip is oblique and long, the entire hindquarters very muscular. The foundation is clear stringy and wiry, with solid hooves.

Despite its only average size of about 1.42 to 1.58 m, the Paint Horse also carries heavy overweight adults with a heavy western saddle in any terrain. The horses are not bred larger to get the " typical agility and the breed type ."

Paint Horses can be kept year-round in the open stall in the pasture, robust.

There are three different drawing pattern, " pattern" called: Tobiano, Overo and Tovero. The Tobiano has white legs, and his white crosses the line of the back, the head, the badge of a single color on the horse - do you recognize a Tobiano also on the typical Plattenscheckung. When no white overo crosses the back line, the white seems to come from the stomach. He often has a lot of white on the face and therefore blue eyes, often the legs are dark. The Overoscheckung there are variations in the Frame Overo, Splashed White Overo and Sabino Overo. The Tovero represents a mixture of both Coat Patterns

Paint Horses are not to be confused with Pintos - the latter does not constitute race, but can come from a variety of breeds and crosses. A Paint Horse must be registered with the American Paint Horse Association. For crossing the American Quarter Horse and the English thoroughbred are allowed.

Paint Horses are used for short- distance races ( the quarter mile is the classic distance ), the ranch work ( cowboy horses ) and Western riding disciplines, such as Reining, Cutting, Working Cow Horse, Western Pleasure, Trail etc..
