American Society of Criminology

The American Society of Criminology (ASC ) is an international organization for members, which deals in teaching, research and practice with crime and its creation. It is based in Berkeley, California.

It was founded in December 1941. With about 3,500 members from about 50 countries, it is the world's largest organization in the field of criminology.

The ASC publishes two magazines and a newsletter. The journal Criminology has been published since 1963. The association is organizing a annual general meeting to the 2,800 people from more than 30 countries to arrive. Discussed are presentations of general interest.
