The Amersfoort Railway Station is the largest train station in the Dutch city of Amersfoort. The station is used daily by about 63,000 people, making it one of the busiest in the Netherlands. He is a central hub in urban public transport. At the station, at national regional and long-distance trains as well as the cross-border Intercity from Amsterdam to Berlin.

History

The first station was opened on 20 August 1863 with the railway line Utrecht - Kampen. However, this was to the east of the present station. 1879 received a new main building by architect DAN the station Margadant. 1874 was followed by the opening track to Amsterdam and 1876 to Apeldoorn. 1901, the station was moved to its present location. The plans came from the Dutch architect DAN Margadant. Its present appearance was the station in 1997.
