Amets Txurruka

Amets Txurruka Ansola [ Amets tʃuru ˌ ka Anso ˌ la ] ( born November 10, 1982 in Etxebarria ) is a Spanish cyclist.

Career

Amets Txurruka began his career in 2006 at the British Professional Continental team Barloworld. He scored at the Giro del Trentino, where he finished 16th in the overall standings His first good result. Later in the Euskal Bizikleta he made it twice in the top ten on the stages and ended up at the end in the overall standings at the Ninth rank. As his team-mate Pedro Arreitunandia and Alexander Jefimkin were still ahead of him, they could decide the team classification for itself.

Since the 2007 season Txurruka went for the Basque Euskaltel -Euskadi ProTour team at the start. At the Tour de France in 2007 he was awarded the Most Combative rider of the Tour de France and was allowed to wear two days the white jersey of best young rider.
