Aminata Maïga Ka

Aminata Maiga Ka (born 11 January 1940 in Saint -Louis, † November 2005; Aminata Maiga full name Rokhaya Ka) was a Senegalese writer.

Maiga Ka was born into a Muslim family, was spoken in French, Peul, Wolof and Bambara. She studied in Senegal, France and the United States. She then worked as an English teacher as well as for UNESCO and the Senegalese government. The political activist Maiga Ka was a member of the Parti Socialiste.

As an author Maiga Ka themed social problems of Senegalese society from a female point of view and in French. In their literary critical works they dealt with the authors Mariama Bâ and Aminata Sow Fall.

Aminata Maiga Ka was married to the playwright and journalist Abdou Anta Ka and had six children.
