Aminomethyl phosphonic acid ( Aminomethylphosphonic Acid, AMPA) is the main degradation product of broadband herbicide glyphosate. AMPA is decomposed by the soil microflora to carbon dioxide, but at a slower degradation rate than glyphosate itself in the environment AMPA was found more frequently and in higher concentrations than glyphosate.
