Aminorex is a synthetic chemical compound which under the name Menocil as an appetite suppressant ( anorectic ) was launched in 1965 in Switzerland, and 1966 in Germany and Austria on the market. As early as 1968 Menocil was again withdrawn from the market after the occurrence of präkapillarer pulmonary hypertension was observed, sometimes with fatal consequences.

Aminorex is the 4- methylaminorex closely related structurally. In Germany Aminorex is a marketable, but not prescription drugs enabled.

Operation

Aminorex sets endogenous Katecholaminspeicher free and inhibits serotonin reuptake.
