Amintore Fanfani

Amintore Fanfani (amine gates faɱfa ː ni) ( born February 6, 1908 in Pieve Santo Stefano, Arezzo Province, † November 20, 1999 in Rome ) was an Italian politician and Prime Minister.

He was a member of the 1945 Constituent Assembly and was a member of the Christian Democrats. After 1947, he was several times member of the Cabinet, including as Foreign Minister, Interior Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Labour and Minister President (1954, 1958/59, 1960-1963, 1982/83, 1987). He represented social reform ideas and advocated for public housing, and agrarian reform. 1965/66 he was president of the UN General Assembly.
