Amir Khan Lepzerin

Emirhan Lepzerin [ ɛmiɾ χɐ ː n ləpze ː rin ] (German: Goldarm ) also known as Emir Xan Lepzêrîn, a Kurdish Emir was in the 17th century.

He ruled around the area of Lake Urmia. He was a khan of the Golden Hand and Ruler of Beradost. After he had built the fortress DimDim again, the Shiite Shah Abbas the Great regarded him as a threat. He besieged the fortress 1606/1610 and finally captured it ( battle of Dimdim ). The Kurds were deported to Khorasan and settled in their place, the Turkish Afshar. Emirhan Lepzerin was supported in the fight against the Shiites Abbas also by the rulers of Mukri who controlled the area around present-day Mahabad. After Emirhan Lepzerins grand vizier Hatem Beg defeat against the Shah Abbas ordered a massacre of the population of Beradost and Mahabad.
