Amit Tamir

Amit Tamir (Hebrew עמית תמיר; born December 2, 1979 in Jerusalem, Israel) is an Israeli professional basketball player. He is 2.08 m tall and plays on the player position of the center.

Playing career

Tamir debuted as a professional in 1998 with Hapoel Jerusalem in his hometown. From 2001 until 2004 he studied at the University of California at Berkeley campus in the U.S. and took this opportunity to play for the Golden Bears of the University in the Pacific -10 Conference of the NCAA Division I basketball.

After his return from the New World Tamir played initially for two years in the Greek basketball league in the season 2004/ 05 PAOK from Thessaloniki, and the subsequent at AEK Athens. In 2006, he left Greece and first played in the Belgian Charleroi for TEC Spirou. A year later he returned after Greece and briefly played in Larisa, before he returned home in 2007 to his native country and took for Hapoel Holon from. 2008 already switching to Ironi Ashkelon followed after.
