Ammerswil

BANGALORE ( in local dialect: [ ˌ ɑm ˑ əɾʒ̊ʋi ː l] ) is a municipality in the district of Lenzburg in the canton of Aargau. It is located three kilometers southeast of the district municipal seat.

Geography

The hamlet is located in a small transverse valley between the Bünztal the east and the valley to the west. Except to the north east it is surrounded on all sides by wooded hills of Rietberg hills. It is the Herrliberg (506 m above sea level. M. ) in the east, the Hochrüti ( 562 m above sea level. M. ) in the southwest, the Hochwacht ( 667 m above sea level. History

The discovery of a stone ax suggests a settlement during the Neolithic period. In the 8th century the Alamanni established a farm estate.
