Province

Amnat Charoen ( Thai อำนาจเจริญ ) is the capital of the district ( Amphoe ) Amnat Charoen Mueang Amnat Charoen and the province in the northeast region of Thailand, Isan.

Geography

Amnat Charoen is located in the extreme east of the Isan on the border with Laos and is located about 580 kilometers from Bangkok. The area is idyllic, the offbeat situation suggests not, however, in a significant tourism down.

Economic importance and

The area is among the poorest in Thailand, main economic activity is agriculture.

The Phuttha Utthayan Reservoir serves the constant irrigation and primarily supplies agriculture.

History

Amnat Charoen The city was under King Nang Klao (Rama III. ) The status of a city and was initially managed by Nakhon Khemarat, then later from Ubon Ratchathani from. Amnat Charoen was January 12, 1993 the capital of the newly founded province, which was separated from the province of Ubon Ratchathani. Together with the provinces of Nong Bua Lamphu and Amnat Charoen Sakaeo is one of the three last-formed provinces in Thailand.

  • Wat Ming Mueang Mongkhon ( วัด มงคล มิ่ง เมือง ) - idyllic Buddhist temple ( Wat ), houses a Buddha image with rich gold leaf jewelry.
  • Wat Tham Saeng Phet ( วัด ถ้ำ แสง เพชร ) - Perched on a hilltop Buddhist temple complex, home to some caves with Buddha images
  • Phuttha Utthayan ( พุทธ อุทยาน ) - Buddhist park with Huay Pho - reservoir, which also serves as a tourist area.
