Amphilochus (son of Alcmaeon)

Amphilochus ( Ἀμφίλοχος ), the son of Alcmaeon and Manto, was a figure in Greek mythology. After Alcmaeon killed his mother Eriphyle he was struck with madness. Therefore, he gave his sister, Tisiphone Amphilochus and to Creon, king of Corinth, and his wife Eurydice.

Later, when his father lived in Acarnania, Amphilochus returned to him, and founded the city of Argos Amphilochikon on Ambracian golf. He is considered the founding father of the Amphilochier. Another tradition attributes this merit to his father's brother Amphilochus.
