Amram

Amram is a Hebrew personal name ( עמרם ). In Arabic, it is Imran ( عمران, DMG ʿ Imraan ).

Etymology

The typical West Semitic personal name Am ( i) ram means about uncle is sublime. Uncle here referred to more precisely the brother of the father. This name -forming element is likely to be interpreted as a deified ancestor.

The name of Amram comes in Tanach twice before:
