Amri culture

The Amri culture flourished in the 4th and 3rd millennium BC in Balochistan and Sindh (Pakistan ). The culture is named after the locality Amri in the Indus Valley.

The history of these regions is still poorly understood and is influenced by different cultures that differ based on their pottery styles. The Amri culture seems to be preceded at various locations of the Indus Valley Civilization. It has some similarities with the Nal- culture, the Nal- culture rather in the mountains of Baluchistan, the Amri Culture is more widespread in the Indus Valley.

The Amri pottery is bright with a cream- colored coat. The pottery is usually decorated with geometric patterns in red and blue. Copper was known.
