Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet

The Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet (short: ALSQ ) is a Dutch recorder quartet. It has altered significantly by its individual handling of the recorder and his unconventional repertoire of the opinion of a recorder quartet.

History

The quartet was founded in 1978 by Daniel Brüggen ( a nephew of Frans Brüggen ), Bertho Driever, Paul Leenhouts and Karel van Steen Hoven, who studied at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam at that time. The ensemble in 1981 became famous, when it participated in Bruges at the Concours Musica Antiqua. It led, contrary to the competition rules to an own arrangement of a song by Stevie Wonder, yet it has been named the winner of the contest. The quartet can boast a number of appearances in Berlin and Others, Utrecht, Sapporo and London and several tours throughout Europe, the USA and Japan.

2001 Paul Leenhouts left the quartet, and was replaced by Daniel Koschitzki. 2004 also left Bertho Driever the quartet and was replaced by Andrea Ritter.

On 26 November 2007, the quartet was the last appearance in the formation Bruggen, Steen Hoven, knights and Koschitzki. Later, it came back several times to the former founding members Bruggen, Steen Hoven, Leenhouts and Driever.
