Amsterdam Oud-Zuid

Oud -Zuid ( German: Old South) is a neighborhood in the municipality of Amsterdam in the city of Amsterdam Zuid, which was formed in 1998 from the districts of Zuid and De Pijp. With this merger, the Prinses Irenebuurt went with the Rivierenbuurt and Buitenveldert on in the new district Amsterdam-Centrum.

On 1 January 2005 the district was one of 83 696 inhabitants. Here are, among others, Amsterdam's most famous park, the Vondelpark, the Olympic Stadium and the Museum Quarter.

Oud -Zuid is divided into ten residential district:

  • Nieuwe Pijp
  • Diamantbuurt ( Diamond District )
  • Museum Quarter ( Museum District, colloquially Concertgebouwbuurt - Konzerthaus Quarter)
  • Duivelseiland ( Devil's Island )
  • Willemspark ( William Park )
  • Apollobuurt (Apollo quarter, colloquially Beethovenbuurt - Beethoven Quarter)
  • Stadionbuurt (Stadium district )
  • Schinkelbuurt ( Schinkel district )
  • Hoofddorppleinbuurt ( Hofddorpplatzviertel, Related: Schinkel Bedrijventerrein ( commercial area Schinkel ) )
