Geography

Location

The Municipal Office mountain lies between the rivers Zwoenitz and Zschopau. The highest point of the village is the Dittersdorfer height of 553 m. The district Dittersdorf is a Waldhufendorf. It is located in a southwest-northeast direction from Zwönitztal to Dittersdorfer height. The district of Weissenbach (also a Waldhufendorf ) is located south of the Official Mountain in east-west direction. East of Weissbach lies the village manor house, a former Vorwerk. The district Wilischthal at the confluence of Zschopau and Wilisch is located south of Weissbach and chateau.

Neighboring communities

In the north the city of Chemnitz borders with the districts of Einsiedel and Kleinolbersdorf - Altenhain to the community, in the west Burkhardt village and the district Kemtau, northeast Gornau / Erzgeb., East Zschopau in the south Drebach with the district Grießbach and southwest Gelenau / Erzgeb.

Memorials

A plaque from 1978 in the cemetery of the local part Weissbach reminded of 17 men and women from the Soviet Union, Poland and Belgium, deported during the Second World War to Germany and victims of forced labor were. The panel was replaced in 1994 by a memorial stone.

Full-time mayor of the municipality is the born 1966 Sylvio Krause ( CDU). He received on 10 June 2001 a vote share of 92.6 %.

Office mountain is crossed by the B 180, further consists in Dittersdorf connection to the B 174, there is also a stop on the rollercoaster Zwoenitz In Dittersdorf.

Education

In Dittersdorf is a primary school. The middle school Weissbach was the end of the school year 2005/2006 closed, as it has been affected due to low number of pupils of the closure plans of the Free State of Saxony.

The municipality has three children facilities. The facilities rainbow in Dittersdorf and tots country in Weissbach be operated communally. The establishment generation house tree of life is guided by the free carriers of the same name.
