Amurru (god)

Martu ( Amurrum ) is an Akkadian deity.

Amurrum was originally a deity West Semitic nomads. In the Sumerian pantheon, he was admitted under the name Martu, the son of Anu. His wife was a lady of the steppe, sometimes Ašratum was considered his wife, who is often equated with the later Ugaritic ʿ Athtirat.

Martu and Amuru were not only the name of the Akkadian deity, but also the people of the Amorites in the Sumerian and Akkadian language. It is likely that the two names have a reciprocal effect.
