Amy Acuff

Amy Acuff (born 14 July 1975 Port Arthur, Texas) is an American high jumper.

At the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995, she was eighth, but failed in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and the World Cup 1997 in Athens in qualifying.

In 1997 she won gold at the Universiade, and at the World Championships in Seville, she was ninth. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 again meant the qualification that off, and at the World Championships in Edmonton, she was ten.

At the Golden League meeting in Zurich in 2003 she achieved her personal record with 2.01 meters. This was followed by a ninth place finish at the World Championships in Paris / Saint -Denis, a fourth at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, an eighth at the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005 and a twelfth at the 2007 World Cup.

So far it has been six times in the open ( 1995, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007 ) and four times in the Hall ( 2001, 2004, 2007, 2008 ) U.S. Champion.

Amy Acuff has a competition weight of 66 kg at a height of 1.88 m. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in biology and is known for her activities as a model, which they brought, among others, on the covers of Esquire and Playboy. The granddaughter of country singer and producer Roy Acuff is a licensed acupuncturist and married to the pole vaulter Tye Harvey since 2004.
