Amy Heckerling

Amy Heckerling ( born May 7, 1954 in New York City ) is an American director and screenwriter.

Heckerling studied Film Arts at New York University, she graduated from the AFI Conservatory, the American Film Institute. She made her debut with the school comedy I think ', I stand in the forest ( 1982) with Sean Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Judge Reinhold, who was admitted in 2005 into the National Film Registry. The films Look Who 's Talking! (1989) and Kuck ' times, who's talking - Part 2 (1990), she turned with John Travolta and Kirstie Alley, the movie Clueless - What else! (1995 ) with Alicia Silverstone. For the film Clueless, for which she also wrote the script, she won the National Society of Film Critics Award and was nominated for the Writers Guild of America Award. From 1996 to 1999 she directed the television series Clueless - The chaos clique. In the film Loser - Even losers are lucky (2000) with Jason Biggs and Mena Suvari, she worked not only as a director but also as a screenwriter and film producer. In 2012 she turned the vampire romantic comedy " Vamps " starring Alicia Silverstone, Krysten Ritter and Sigourney Weaver in the lead roles.

Heckerling was married to the director Neal Israel and is the mother of the 1985 -born actress Mollie Israel.
