Amy Elizabeth LePeilbet ( born March 12, 1982 in Spokane, Washington) is an American soccer player. She plays for FC Kansas City and for the U.S. national team.

Life and career

LePeilbet started to play football and basketball games at the Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake and holds the school records in both sports. Also at Arizona State University, she received several awards. She also played for the Chicago Cobras and 2005 for Arizona Heatwave in the W- League. In 2008 she won the W-League Pali Blues and scored the decisive goal in a 2-1 victory in the final against FC Indiana. Since the start of the WPS 2009, she plays for the Boston Breakers in 2009 and 2010 and was honored as " WPS Defender of the Year" and appointed to the Allstar team.

LePeilbet defense was head of the U-21 teams in 2002 and 2003 Nordic Cup won.

In 2004 she was first invited to the training of the senior team and made her first senior international match at age 21 when she was on 30 January 2004, substitute in the 3-0 win over Sweden in the context of the four-nation tournament, which won the USA. Nevertheless, she stood in all six games in the starting lineup, but the American Centre Back was changed in the quarter-finals, so they played alongside the more experienced Christie Rampone.

LePeilbet was in the squad for the Olympic football tournament in London, and was used in five of six games. In the final against Japan on 9 August 2012, she won for the first time the gold medal.

Under the new coach Tom Sermanni not yet came into use and has only been once invited to a training camp in December, 2013, after she has recovered from her torn ACL.

In the 2013 season, they should play in the newly established National Women 's Soccer League, the highest professional league in the American women's soccer for the Chicago Red Stars, but did not because of their cruciate ligament injury and subsequent rehabilitation for use. Immediately before the season starts in 2014 she moved to league rivals FC Kansas City.
