Amyntas Nikator

Amyntas Nicator was an Indo - Greek king who is so far known only from his coins. He ruled in the first century BC. His coins were found in Afghanistan and in the eastern Punjab is suspected that that this corresponds to his territory. Its coins show on the front of his head with Greek inscriptions, often appears on the back of Zeus and inscriptions in Kharoshthi. He also coined the largest known silver coins of the ancient world. The enthroned Zeus on his coins connects him with a group of Indo- Greek rulers with the same motif. It is believed that he ruled by Antialkidas, which also used the enthroned Zeus on his coinage and is considered one of the last significant rulers of the Indo- Greeks.
