An Anna Blume is a Merz - poem, which was founded in 1919 by Kurt Schwitters ( 1887-1948 ) written and very actively disseminated. Schwitters wrote several versions. One of them he used in 1920 as an advertisement for his new book of poetry to the advertising columns in Hanover, where he lived. The poem comes from the artistic and literary movement of Dadaism.

The poem inspired the 20th century countless poets and lyricists in the world, in turn, to write poems or Anna to play in their works on it.

  • The U.S. author Paul Auster takes in his novels reference to Kurt Schwitters, by naming figures Anna Blume. He gives the character so a touch of non- existential, such as in the novel In the Country of Last Things ( In the Country of Last Things). Even in his novel travels in the scriptorium ( Travels in the Scriptorium Jul 2007) have become the older character of Anna Blume happens again. There are also in the novel Moon Over Manhattan ( Moon Palace ) the mention of a character named Anna Blume.
  • The composer Stefan Wolpe himself experienced Schwitters performances of his texts and called " Anna Blume " as little opera. In 1929 he wrote a setting of the poem for piano and musical clown.
