Ana Beatriz

Ana " Bia " Beatriz Gomes de Figueiredo Caselato ( born March 18, 1985 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian automobile racing driver. At first she appeared under the name Bia Figueiredo. Since 2008 she started under the name Ana Beatriz. From 2010 to 2013, it was active in the IndyCar Series.

Career

Under the name Bia Figueiredo she began her motorsport career in karting in 1997, which she held until 2002. In 2003 she made ​​her first experiences in Formula racing in the Brazilian Formula Renault. A year later, she was charged with eight podium finishes fifth in the Brazilian Formula Renault. In 2005 she won three races in the Brazilian Formula Renault and was third in the drivers' standings. After she had already started in some races in the light class and the South American Formula 3 Championship, she drove a full season in 2006 in the South American Formula 3 Championship. She stood five podium finishes and finished fifth overall.

After she had paused in 2007, she moved in 2008 to North America in the Indy Lights. From now on, she launched under the name Ana Beatriz. She went to for Sam Schmidt Motorsports and won a race. At the end of the season they finished behind her teammate Richard Antinucci third overall. In 2009 she stayed with Sam Schmidt Motorsports and was a favorite for the league title. They did not meet expectations and had not budget problems that forced them to discharge of two races. At the end of the season they finished with a victory in eighth place overall. She was from their teammates Wade Cunningham and James Hinchcliffe, the fourth or fifth, were beaten.

In 2010 she went for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing for four races of the IndyCar Series, including the Indianapolis 500, at the start. In the overall standings, she took the 30th place. 2011 saw the launch Beatriz for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing in the IndyCar Series. Beatriz broke in the season opener at a contact with multiple vehicles in the early stages of the race her wrist. As a result, she had to pause after an operation in the second race and was represented in this race by Simon Pagenaud. With an eleventh place as best result they finished the season at the 21st place overall. For the 2012 Beatriz was again not a full time cockpit. She took for Andretti Autosport in two races, including the Indianapolis 500, part. When their car Indianapolis 500 was used together with Conquest Racing. She was 29th in the overall standings.

2013 Beatriz got a part-time IndyCar cockpit with Dale Coyne Racing. She graduated from the first five races of the season, including their home race in São Paulo and the Indianapolis 500 in the rest of the season they got the cockpit in two other races. Their best finish was a 14th place in Long Beach. In the drivers' standings they once again took the 29th place.
