Ana Ivanovic

Ana Ivanović (Serbian Cyrillic - Ана Ивановић; born November 6, 1987 in Belgrade, then Yugoslavia) is a Serbian tennis player. In 2008, she was 12 weeks at the top of the tennis world rankings.

Career

With the tennis Ana began as a five- year-old, after she had seen on television playing Monica Seles. Her mother Dragana ( lawyer ) and her father Miroslav (businessman ) they duly notified in a tennis school. During the bombing of Serbia by NATO in 1999 she trained in a converted swimming pool in Belgrade Sports Center. At 14, she moved with her mother because of better training conditions in Switzerland. The Basel businessman Dan Holzmann was her manager. Ivanović had initially no permanent coach, she also collaborated with Sven Groeneveld. In August 2003, she began her professional career with the participation in ITF tournaments.

2004

Her first major success was reaching the final of the Junior Wimbledon, losing to Kateryna Bondarenko they. On ITF tournaments they won 26 games and five titles in a row. 2006 Ana Ivanović was seen together with her colleague Daniela Hantuchova in a commercial by Sony Ericsson. During the Australian Open 2008, she wrote a daily column for the Melbourne newspaper The Age. On September 8, 2007 Ivanović was appointed alongside Jelena Janković, Aleksandar Djordjevic and Emir Kusturica for a UNICEF ambassador for Serbia.
