Ana Patricia Botín

Ana Patricia Botin ( born October 4, 1960 in Santander, Cantabria ) is a Spanish manager and CEO of Santander UK, the British arm of Banco Santander. According to a classification ( " ranking ") of the Financial Times Germany it is considered the most influential manager in Europe. She was invited to the Bilderberg Conference, a meeting of the 130 most influential people in the world.

Career

The eldest daughter of Emilio Botin, chairman of Banco Santander, studied at Harvard Business School and Bryn Mawr, United States. First leadership experience she gained during her seven years in the United States at JPMorgan. In 1988, she returned to Spain and worked since 1989 in various management positions for the banking group Santander. From 1994 to 1999 she was Vice President of the Bank of Santander. She initiated the expansion of Banco Santander in Latin America. She was until November 2010 Chairman of Banesto, the body responsible for retail banking bank of the Santander Group, before they took their present function, the management of the UK business of Santander. It is regarded as the successor of her father for the management of Santander, which lies in the hands of Botins three generations ago. My great-great grandfather belonged in 1857 to the nine founding members of the Bank.

Family

Ana Patricia Botin is one of six children. Her father is Emilio Botin, chairman of Banco Santander. Her mother is Paloma O'Shea, a pianist, who gave the Spanish king the title of " Marquesa " for lifetime achievement. She is married to the banker Guillermo Morenes and lives in Belgravia, London.
