Ana Paula Rodrigues

Ana Paula Rodrigues ( born October 18, 1987 in São Luís ), is a Brazilian handball player who belonged to the squad of the Brazilian national team.

Career

In the club

Ana Paula Rodrigues began playing handball in 2001 in a Brazilian school. As of 2006, the backcourt player continued her career in Guarulhos. In summer 2007, she signed a contract with the Spanish club BM Puertodulce Roquetas. A season later, Rodrigues was engaged by BM Elche Mustang. After the Brazilian in the 2008 /09 season with 246 goals had a significant share in the first qualifying at the EHF Cup in Moose Club history, she took the League rival Elda Prestigio under contract. With Elda Prestigio they stood in 2010 the EHF Cup final, failed there but at the Danish team Randers HK.

Rodrigues joined in the summer of 2011 the Austrian club Hypo Niederösterreich Austria on, who graduated recently with the Brazilian Handball Federation signed a cooperation agreement. With Hypo she won so far in each season both the Austrian Championship as well as the ÖHB Cup. She also collects each season match practice in the EHF Champions League. In the EHF Champions League 2012/13 Hypo Niederösterreich Austria was eliminated in the first round, but qualified for the competition of the European Cup Winners' Cup. Here Hypo reached the finals and won the final match against French club Paris Issy hand.

In the National Team

Ana Paula Rodrigues participated with the Brazilian selection at the 16th Pan American Games in Guadalajara. There she won the gold medal and contributed six goals in the final win over Argentina. Furthermore, the Brazilian took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Rodrigues was at the World Championships in 2009, 2011 and 2013 in the Brazilian squad. At the 2013 World Championships in Serbia, she celebrated winning the World Cup title, finishing with 39 goals ranked ninth in the scoresheet. Another title win they recorded at the Pan Championships 2013, where she was also elected to the All-Star Team.
