Anabelian geometry

Anabelian geometry refers to a mathematical research program of Alexander Grothendieck on the étale fundamental group in algebraic geometry.

More suspected of certain categories of schemes that for them the functor has an exact Linksadjungierten.

An example of such a category is that of moduli spaces of curves. The conjecture was proved in 1994 for this case by Florian Pop.
