Anaconda Smelter Stack

The Anaconda Smelter Stack is a 178.3 -meter-high chimney of a copper smelter near Anaconda in the U.S. state of Montana. He is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Anaconda Smelter Stack was completed in 1919. The inner diameter of the chimney is 22.86 m at the bottom and tapering to 18.29 m at the highest point. It is built entirely of brick and one of the tallest brick chimneys of the world.

State Park

The chimney system is part of the Anaconda Smoke Stack State Park, a 12 acre ( 4.85 ha) large state park in Deer Lodge County. A car park with info board and look at the brick building at the eastern end of Anaconda on Montana Highway 1 next to the Goodman Park.
