Anadolu Hisarı ( " Anatolian Fortress"; Ottoman آقجه حصار, IA Akça - Hisar, " White Castle ") is a located on the Bosphorus shores of Asia Minor castle in Istanbul in Turkey.

History

The fort was built in 1393-1394 by Sultan Bayezid I on the Asian ( Anatolia or, in Turkish anadolu ) side of the Bosphorus. She checked with the European Bosphorus shore lying on the Rumeli vessel traffic on the Bosporus.

The castle is one of the first Ottoman fortresses on the Bosporus.

Plant

The village of Anadolu Hisarı consists of monumental old wooden houses and has a small port on Göksu Deresi, which is known for boat trips and restaurants with the best views of the Bosphorus. Furthermore, there is a large Ottoman cemetery.
