River
The Anadyr Anadyr Plateau rises in the southwest of the Elgygytgyn Lake. It flows from there in a southwesterly direction. At river kilometer 759 of the Anadyr strikes the right tributary Jablon. The Anadyr now turns east and flows through the Anadyrtiefland until he recently greatly widening, reached the city of Anadyr. This is within its elongated estuary at a narrow point, which separates freshwater from brackish water. Further down the Anadyr goes over to the Bering Sea.
Landscape
The scenery at Anadyr is mostly dominated by forest-tundra and tundra; in the Tundra can grow no higher plants growing in the ground because of the permafrost and the only low water content, but it is dominated by lichens, mosses, shrubs and ferns.
The most important tributaries of the right Jablon, Jeropol and Main, from left Tschineiwejem, Belaya and Tanjurer.
Catchment area and navigability
The catchment area of Anadyr, which is mostly navigable, comprises 191,000 km ².
