History

The club was founded in 1904 in the city of Karditsa in the south west of Thessaly. It was originally founded as a sports club for several departments as ASA (Greek: Αθλητικός Σύλλογος Αναγέννησης - Athlitikos Syllogos Anagennisis ), the Anagennisi Athletic Association. The name comes from the Greek word for rebirth.

When the Greek football league was professionalized in 1979, was the Football Department of ASA in a Football Public Limited Company or PAE (Greek: ΠΑΕ - Ποδοσφαιρική Ανώνυμη Εταιρία / Podosferiki anonymity Eteria ) converted. From now on, the association PAE Anagennisi Karditsa (FC Anagennisi Karditsa ) said.

After the team spent several years in the lower classes, the club took place in 2006 under Vaios Karagiannis, a former player of AEK Athens, a change. This was that you got a lot of young players into the team and a tight contract to player exchange with AEK Athens signed.

An improvement in the play ended with the rise in the Beta Ethniki in the 2008 /09 season. After eight years in the Gamma Ethniki (North group) managed this climb.

Anagennisi Karditsa plays its home games currently out in Karditsa Stadium ( Δημοτικό Στάδιο Καρδίτσας ). It is located in the eastern part of the city of Karditsa. The training ground is located in the southern neighboring town Rousso.
